Hi wing, yea I made these. the whole thing is made of sth called "carded wool" which my friend ordered it from the States. it's a basic material for needle felting.
THanks for the info, Koanne, but i still can't figure out how u constructed the "whole thing" with something like hair (no framework, glue or other materials inside???)...pretty amazing ;-)
it's just a lot of poking and stabbing:P the fiber will magically tangle together and it can actually get very firm if u poke it enough of times. some ppl do have armature inside (esp doing figures) and have the wool wrap around it. u can find a lot of info online as well as youtube videos. it's pretty amazing how complicated and delicate it can get~
it's only the size of my hand, and there isnt much details so it didnt take me that long. maybe 2 hrs...3 hrs top?! it's quite a while ago so i dun really remember hah~~
no...it's the hairy texture which caught my eye in the first place; i was wondering if i could apply the technique to my sculptures in the future...but i know NOTHING about needle felting, it's always fun to see something new though.
not ur Academy though, i majored in fine arts when i was in college.
nope, not a sculptor or anything...life is a bitch; i can't afford to do any art now, still enjoy viewing others' works though. hey, tracing the links, u have many talented friends here! i enjoy their works a lot ;-)
